Chinese student perspective on UOWs Chinese name

Thank you for taking a few minutes to provide your opinions and ideas!  Firstly here is some background:     UOW has actively marketed itself in the People’s Republic of China for more than 12 years. For the most part we have used the name 卧龙岗大学, which is promoted through many education agents located in China. We also have     many partnerships with China-based universities, and some of these universities  use the name     伍伦贡大学 to represent UOW.    Over the 12 years we have varied feedback about these names. During 2014-2015, we plan to work on a project to review the effectiveness and value of the names we use and select the most appropriate name to use in the future. This will involve consulting with students, prospective students, alumni, UOW staff and expert linguists. Please feel assured that this review will take time and be carefully considered and any name well tested    The aim of the review is to choose a ‘western sounding’ name that appropriately represents the University of Wollongong: a dynamic, successful world-class Australian university with a beautiful campus filled with bright minds all striving to improve their world.   With this in mind, please provide your personal opinions to the following questions.
